Post Script; life, there after

Ink

Here’s a quick note dedicated to my ink and piercings. Since my count is very few, I combined them. I was intending on some pictures- once I got around to it.

Ink

January 11, 2008. This was my first tattoo. I got this on my 18th birthday :) The numbers represent a date; 11/27/2004 is the date of my father’s death. He meant a lot to me and this is like my tribute. Ink represents permanence, and how he will always be a part of me, and I have it placed on my ankle to represent how he will be with me every step.

May 8, 2008. I got my wings. In the very heart-felt essence to give this one meaning, this ties in with my dad. For me, the wings show a sign of Angels. I have lost some of my friends through high school, some much closer than others. All great people with beautiful souls, I’d like to think that they’re still around and this is my connection to them. Remember those who help shape who you are and impacted your life. May I one day fly.

But the truth is, this was very spontaneous. My friend at work, Tory, just got some sweet ink on her hip and it got me thinking. What if I got a tattoo for prom? My dress was strapless, so I thought some fresh shoulder ink would be a good surprise. I browsed and decided to get my own super cliche pair of wings. I was with my friend Tara that night and we decided to go to the shop and get it priced. Spare, my artist this time, designed this and ended up inking me right there that night. Whoops. I don’t necessarily regret it, but I could also live without it. That’s more of how it happened, but I can still stand by what it means to me now.

June 13, 2009. Ok. So I was thinking about ink for a little while and I wanted to incorporate a lyric that I love into my wings. But also because my mother does not like the idea of me getting inked anymore, I couldn’t get it where I originally intended, but this placement is still nice. If you’re having trouble reading, it says, “she feels the rhythm like it is her heartbeat.” The song? Karaja- She Moves. The reason I listen to most of what I do is because it is fast and makes me feel like my heart is moving- I’m alive.

July 15, 2010. Jenn, Amanda and I are probably the best thing.  Through almost everything, they’ve been there, and we’re a trio.  After much ink craving, we decided to all get ink together.  We all have a variation of 3 stars somewhere on our body, and that’s a symbol of all of us, together, forever and cheese.

March 12, 2011. I had this coupon thing for 50% off a tattoo flash (pre-drawn)…but I don’t like pre-made, so I opted for a personal one. Jenn’s been insisting I get this Genie Lamp for that good sense of humor, so I did it. I almost settled for the initial sketch, but the more I thought about it, there were things I didn’t like and this is permanent.

Piercings

I’m not too crazy about piercings, but I figure I would throw them onto this page.
It’s simple. My standard first holes and then 2 cartilage.
June 13, 2009. I got my 2nd holes pierced :)
